Multi frame graphic notations

When I did this project I tried to imagine a composition of multiple photos, each one being a separate part of the song. I also envisioned the various frames as different instruments that could be incorporated into the final score. Focusing on similarities but underlying contrasts in the multiframe pictures conveyed a sense of harmony but also variation that would help create a cohesive musical composition.

  1. Emma! You killed it girl! I thought the variety of colors and objects helped create a very wide range of music to compose. I felt as if each photo was for a different genre of music, and I especially liked the second photo because the three frames reminded me of a hip hop beat, with the steps as the bass, the knot as a synthesizer loop, and the last photo shows the depth of the lyrics.

  2. Emma!! Ahhhhh! You were extremely successful in allowing your creative juices to flow into this assignment. The abstraction and use of shadowy textures in the first diptych is perfect for this project, I can imagine a sweeping, streaming composition just by looking at it.

  3. Emma!!! i really like what you did here with these photos, each one conveying a different and clear emotion. the first diptych, i dont know what it is, but it looks like a candle flame rolling across a carpet, stained with nostalgia. it's moving and mesmerizing in its own right and possesses a very innocent and wondrous quality, an examination on light and shadow, everyday moments, with a documentarian's eye and a Malick-like style. all very good and differing photos sets but the last triptych seemed out of place and the framing was a little weird

  4. Emma!!!! This is a strong set of images portraying multi frame graphic notation. I like how each image connects to the next through leading lines and color patterns. I like how you explored shapes of shadows and different angles of buildings to convey the theme of graphic notation. Great work!

  5. Emma!!! This is a great series. All the grids work together while contrasting each other to really bring out the work. There's so a mixture of styles; from color, to angle, to editing style. Great job.
