Best of Texture Series

I chose these as my best of because each picture focuses solely on the textures. i did not include any picture that had a background or distracting qualities to it, i wanted to viewer to only pay attention to the nature of the texture. these photos are also out of context and have a mysterious and distorting facet to them, which i think it important. without context or knowing right away what the texture is apart of/suppose to be, the viewer can come to their own conclusion about it various aspects.

For this series I tried to be sensitive to harsh lighting and shadows that were separate and/or distracting from the texture. I learned that it is hard to get a satisfying picture of a smooth surface, and almost every texture in this series is either raised or embossed and has a distinctive feel when you touch it. I tried to not edit these pictures too much so the viewer could get a sense of the natural state and appearance of the texture. I like this series better then the last, but i want to make a compilation of my best pictures.
