Experimental Style

For this assignment i chose to mimic the style of Haleys Braid in my last series. In order to create that effect i used cross process in blue, sometimes intrepid with a fade and then finishing with tranquil. I liked going out and finding pictures that i thought would work with that effect. If i were to continue this assignment i would keep looking for similar pictures; warm, lighter pictures that have good contrast and feel somewhat nostalgic.

Photo Sketchbook

1. I used blurred edges and adjusted the contrast and exposure. i used the effect orton
2. i adjusted the exposure, brightness, and contrast alot for this one. i used tranquil and urbane
3. for this one i only adjusted the exposure and contrast. i did not use any filters
4. i used the cross process in blue for this one and adjusted the contrast and exposure. i finished it with an intrepid filter
5. for the parthanon i used burst and then played alot with the curves and the exposure and contrast.
6. i turned this into black and white in iPhoto. i then i used urbane to make the edges darker. i also adjusted the contrast and exposure
7. for this i used cross process and then tranquil. after that i adjusted the curves and exposure/contrast
8. i turned this into black and white and then i used orton. after i adjusted the exposure/contrast and did dodging and burning around her face and the shadows.
9.  i used tranquil for this one and then did a slight color tint to make it look warmer. i think adjusted the exposure/contrast.
10. all i did for this was turn it into black and white, adjust the contrasts and used texts. i wanted it to be simple

this project was interesting but became a little repetitive. i enjoyed playing around with the different filters. I defiantly became more comfortable with pic monkey and am happy with the way my pictures turned out. The most challenging part of the project was finding a picture and then coming up with the right text for it. I was lucky because my iphoto has over 10,000 pictures to choose from so i had a ton of options, but that made it a little difficult to pick the final photo.
